I’m back with the final post in the Cirque Du Eden series!
The most difficult part about planning parties for my 2 winter babies IS winter. Finding the right entertainment is a close second- which is why I was excited to book Silly Goose and Val to perform for the kids.

We sang. We danced. We laughed… and my house is still standing.

The dessert table featured an elephant topped chevron cake, macaron tower, elephant wars ( petite palmiers)cupcakes, chevron and elephant cookies and white chocolate mousse.

Chevron bags filled with a memory game, necklace, elephant shaped soap and and elephant shaped crayons were give to our guests as a thank you for celebrating with us.

Now on to Christmas. Happy Holidays!

We’re so excited to share our spring party!
One: because it was a lot of fun putting it together
&
Two: because I firmly believe we know and love some of the most beautiful and sophisticated toddlers/ preschoolers around!
When we started putting together the design we immediately thought about a lot of the traditional soft pastels and chocolate bunnies but after considering the guestlist, we thought it warranted something with a bit more sparkle for our favorite Haute kids.

Somewhere between three and four years old my oldest became hyper aware of his birthday. Up until now we’d gotten off pretty easy with an over the top party every other year with quiet at home cake and ice cream celebrations filling in the years between those festivals du Malcolm.
We were especially committed to the idea of a party every other year once we had our now one year old daughter.
Eden’s birthday came and went with a fun celebration in honor of her first year. Mal had a blast and talked about it for weeks.
But then one fateful afternoon my husband and I showed up at school to pick him up. He was waiting in his classroom excited as ever with no less than FIVE party invitations from his classmates.
I was perfectly okay with this right up to the part where Malcolm started talking about his party and which of his friends he was planning to invite.

This is where the needle scratched the record.
My feeble attempts to explain to the 4 year old master manipulator that this was not a “party year” fell on deaf ears. He already had a guestlist and possibly an outfit worked out.
And then the mommy guilt set in. I turned to my husband and announced we HAD to do a little something for him.
Just a friend … or 12.
Some cupcakes …maybe a dessert table. See the rest »

I’m very excited to share my baby girl’s first birthday party!
Around the time she turned six months I started mentally working out the details of an über fabulous fête t o celebrate the milestone …and then I came across this photo themed party by Stacey of Elle Belle Creative. It didn’t take much to decide it was perfect for Eden’s first birthday.

I recruited my BFF from CoBennett Photography and she agreed to man the photo booth for fun guest portraits.

There’s something cheerful about polka dots and perfectly suited to Eden’s sunny disposition so I tied them in with the red, aqua and dash-of-pink color scheme.

The dessert table featured a vanilla dotted cake iced in white butter cream, strawberry marshmallows, cupcakes with fondant camera toppers, spotted number ones , camera cookies and adorable kid pops!

Even a 1st birthday party needs a DJ for the 1s and almost 2s…

Mustache and eyeglass cutouts, chalkboard thought bubbles and a bright colorful backdrop added character to my favorite part of this party- the photo booth.

Each adult guest received a frame with instructions on how to select their photos from an online album to be ordered and sent with Eden’s thank you cards. The kids went home with gable boxes filled with goodies such as satin slippers, bracelets and light up yo-yos and handmade crayon rolls.
We had a great time planning and I’m very happy with how the party turned out.
We of course didn’t plan for the birthday girl to sleep for a portion of the afternoon but it’s her party and she can sleep if she wants to.

She did perk up later-right around the time Mommy and Daddy were ready to collapse.
